What are the most common issues with the initial setup of ClassyPress? Slow Servers & Invalid Credentials.
#1.) Server Response Is Slow / Times Out
One of the most common issues across all hosting platforms is the server timing out. This typically occurs when Classy’s API is getting bombarded with requests and/or a server is temporarily out of available resources. Luckily, there’s an easy fix. You simply need to disable the automatic update feature which stops making calls to Mittun’s server and Classy’s.
Go to ClassyPress => 1.) General Settings => 2.) Advanced => 3.) Select “disable Plugin Autoupdate” => Update/Save Settings.

#2.) Invalid Credentials
The most common issue with setting up ClassyPress is not properly copying-and-pasting the credentials correctly.
One trailing or leading space will cause the plugin to not work! So, let’s show you how to make sure everything is entered correctly.
- Trailing spaces (should have no spaces)
- Leading spacing (should have no spaces)
- Incorrect ID – wrong number or includes letter (should only be numbers)

Once entered correctly, you will be able to see all of your Classy campaigns in the dropdown selector menu when creating a new campaign, leaderboard or combined campaign. Please see the below graphic for further clarity.
