ClassyPress Pro & ClassyPress Go will only work on WordPress.com’s Business Account.
Ok, now let’s clarify some things.
WordPress is a framework of files to build amazing websites. You can download the “WordPress Package” for free from WordPress.org and install it on your own website hosting account.
WordPress.com on the other hand, is a subscription-based platform to host your WordPress website on WordPress.com. So it’s essentially the same thing as mentioned above, except WordPress.com IS your web host so you don’t actually deal with any of the files or setup or installation. Think of it like leasing a website— you don’t own the actual files and their platform does all the maintenance when something breaks.
Like anything in life, a leasing doesn’t give you as much control as owning, and that’s the case with WordPress.com
Q: What type of WordPress.com account will work with ClassyPress?
A: Currently, only the “Business” account as seen below will allow you to upload your own plugins
Q: I don’t have a Business account on WordPress.com, what do I do?
A: We recommend either upgrading to Business or getting a new WordPress website that’s hosted on your own website hosting provider.
